Although God can use all our circumstances and difficulties to speak to us, we rediscovered that God speaks loudly to us in the stillness and quietness of time and environment. We have discovered that the world goes on without us, and so does the church. Our brief absence does not bring chaos but shows us the grace and providence of God. We feel encouraged! We enjoyed spending time with each other away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It gave us a chance to sit in a quiet place for an extended period of time; to meditate more thoroughly on God’s word. We have been feeling a need to make rest more of a priority. The materials, peaceful setting, and focused time with God gave us inspiration, direction, and practical next steps to continuing growing in our practice of Sabbath rest.Brian and Tonya Devine
